Job summary

Sundt Construction in Mesa, AZ seeks a main line operator with at least 10 years of heavy equipment experience in street work and utilities. Pre-employment drug testing is required.

Pay ranges from $40 to $42 per hour DOE, with a 40-hour week and potential overtime. You will safely operate equipment such as backhoes, excavators, dozers, and loaders, perform preventive maintenance, and complete pre-shift inspections to ensure safe, efficient progress on projects.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 10 years of heavy equipment operator experience in industrial/commercial construction, performing street work and excavating around utilities.
• Must be able to read and understand drawings, specifications, safety and quality standards.
• Must pass pre-employment drug test and have good verbal/written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Safely operates a variety of heavy equipment (backhoes, excavators, dozers, loaders, graders, haul/dump trucks, water trucks).
• Perform preventive maintenance and pre-shift inspections to ensure safe operation.
• Maintain positive working relationships with crew members and provide feedback to ensure materials, tools, and information are available.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and share knowledge with others.
• Inspect work and ensure compliance with plans and specifications; address deficiencies.
• Eliminate waste such as waiting, rework, and material handling.
