Job summary

WM (Waste Management) is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator II at the Okeechobee landfill to join a safety-first team. The role offers a Monday–Friday schedule (3am–1:30pm) with rotating weekends and opportunities for training and advancement within a stable company.

You will operate heavy equipment in a compliant, record-keeping environment, perform routine inspections, move materials, and follow standard operating procedures to support efficient waste management operations.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience operating heavy equipment.
• Be over 18 years of age.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Ability to perform physical requirements and pass pre-employment drug screen and physical.

Responsibilities

• Operates heavy equipment in accordance with safety policies and procedures.
• Conducts routine equipment inspections and preventative maintenance; keeps records.
• Moves and positions materials using material handling equipment.
• Follows standard operating procedures for operating and maintaining vehicles.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
