Job summary

Nbutexas in Honolulu seeks an experienced Heavy Civil Estimator to prepare accurate, detailed estimates for large and complex construction projects within our Heavy Civil division. This role requires strong knowledge of construction methods, costs, scheduling, and project requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• 5+ years of construction experience; estimating experience strongly preferred.
• Heavy Civil construction experience preferred.
• Strong estimating, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and estimating software.
• Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively while meeting deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare conceptual, preliminary, and construction estimates.
• Perform and oversee quantity take-offs.
• Review plans, specifications, contracts, and subcontractor/vendor quotes.
• Identify project risks, opportunities, and potential discrepancies.
• Conduct site investigations and support bid preparation.
• Coordinate estimating workloads and deadlines.
• Evaluate labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractor costs.
• Work with project managers and field teams on budgets and change orders.
• Support negotiations with owners, architects, engineers, and agencies.
• Assist with finalizing competitive bids.
