Essel in California seeks a Senior Healthcare Superintendent to lead complex construction projects in hospitals, clinics, and medical facilities, ensuring safety, schedule, and budget adherence.

You will coordinate multiple trade contractors, enforce infection-control protocols, and work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and hospital staff to deliver compliant, high-quality outcomes. This role requires strong leadership and rigorous site management.

Qualifications

• 10 years experience as a Superintendent.
• Minimum of 5 years of superintendent experience in healthcare construction or related fields.
• Thorough knowledge of healthcare construction regulations, infection control, and safety standards.
• Proven ability to manage multi-trade commercial or institutional construction projects.
• Develop and maintain clear project schedules using Microsoft Project.
• Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, BIM, and Microsoft Project.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day on-site supervision of healthcare construction projects including hospitals, clinics, and specialized medical facilities.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare-specific regulatory requirements and standards, including infection control risk assessments and protocols.
• Coordinate and manage subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to maintain project schedules and deliverables.
• Implement and enforce strict safety protocols tailored to healthcare settings to protect patients, staff, and workers.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and hospital staff to address project challenges and maintain alignment with design specifications.
• Conduct regular site inspections and quality control checks to ensure construction meets all applicable codes, plans, and quality standards.
• Manage documentation including daily reports, change orders, RFIs, and safety records specific to healthcare construction.
• Anticipate potential project risks or issues and proactively develop solutions to mitigate impact on schedule and budget.
• Serve as the primary on-site representative for stakeholders, facilitating clear communication and timely decision-making.
