Job summary

AdventHealth in Altamonte Springs, Florida, is seeking a full-time estimator to review RFIs and Change Orders, develop detailed cost estimates, and collaborate with project teams from preconstruction through GMP. You will ensure safety compliance and manage budgets for healthcare construction projects.

The role requires strong Excel skills, extensive knowledge of construction, and the ability to mentor others while coordinating with contractors and vendors.

Qualifications

• Highly competent in estimating discipline with strong mathematics
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and communication skills
• Strong understanding of building construction; able to review plans and produce written findings
• Excellent Microsoft Excel abilities
• Self-motivated requiring minimal supervision
• Ability to multitask including management of contractors and staff
• Knowledge of Florida construction industry and practices (preferred)
• Knowledge of labor and materials costs and trends (preferred)
• Maintains good working relationships with General Contractors and Subcontractors (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual, schematic, design development, and detailed estimates using takeoffs and cost data
• Develop and validate comprehensive project budgets including all costs
• Review drawings and specs to identify scope gaps and budget risks
• Maintain market intelligence and develop cost models for planning and reporting
• Evaluate schedule impacts on cost and provide delivery strategy recommendations
• Identify cost risks and opportunities for value optimization
• Collaborate with Planning, Design & Construction, Facilities, Finance, and vendors
• Present estimates and risks to leadership and project teams
• Support development of estimating standards and processes to improve accuracy
• Mentor junior estimators and promote best practices
