Amazon is seeking a Solutions Architect for their Healthcare & Life Sciences organization within AWS. This role involves shaping and delivering strategies for global HCLS customers, focusing on designing cloud architectures that tackle industry-specific challenges. Candidates should have 5+ years of experience in cloud computing or related technology fields.
The position offers a competitive salary range of USD 169,000 to USD 228,600 annually, along with comprehensive benefits such as health, dental, vision insurance, and a 401(k) matching program.
At Amazon Web Services (AWS), we are seeking a Healthcare & Life Sciences (HCLS) Solutions Architect to join our HCLS organization within AWS Industries. In this role, you will help shape and deliver our strategy for global HCLS customers and partners, partnering with some of the world's largest healthcare and life sciences companies to design cloud architectures that address their industry-specific business challenges and accelerate the adoption of AWS services.
As a Solutions Architect, you will be at the forefront of helping customers succeed using AWS technologies — linking technology with measurable business value for healthcare and life sciences organizations. You will have technical depth, business aptitude, and the ability to lead in-depth technology discussions, articulating the value of the AWS platform to Enterprise Architects, Technical Architects, Cloud Architects, Directors, VPs, and CXOs.
You will craft highly scalable, flexible, and resilient cloud architectures, assist organizations in understanding best practices around advanced cloud-based solutions, and help migrate existing workloads to the cloud. You will have the opportunity to define or invent cloud-native reference architectures for a variety of use cases (Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Generative AI, Serverless and container-based architectures, analytics and big data, DevOps, and security). In collaboration with account management, professional services, support, product teams, and the AWS partner ecosystem, you will formulate and execute strategies to build mind-share and broaden use of AWS within enterprise customers.
Your morning starts with a customer call – whiteboarding a cloud migration strategy for a global pharma company. Mid‑morning, you build a Generative AI prototype that shows how a life sciences customer could accelerate drug discovery. After lunch, you join an architecture review with the account team, then lead a hands‑on workshop walking a hospital system through HIPAA‑compliant deployments on AWS. Between meetings, you sketch a reference architecture for a new ML pipeline, trade ideas with fellow SAs in your collaboration tool, and jot down notes for a whitepaper. No two days look the same.
The base salary range for this position is USD 169,000.00 - 228,600.00 annually. The Amazon package includes sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits, including health, dental, and vision insurance; life and disability insurance; employee assistance program; mental health support; flexible spending accounts; adoption and surrogacy reimbursement; 401(k) matching; paid time off; and parental leave.
