Job summary

Verisma-Systems-In is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to join our healthcare technology team. You will design scalable, Azure-based data architectures, build pipelines with Data Factory and Synapse, and integrate with EHR systems using FHIR, HL7, and C-CDA standards.

You will mentor engineers, drive data governance and security, ensure HIPAA compliance, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver robust analytics and BI solutions. Remote-friendly with healthcare domain focus.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in data engineering or related roles.
• Expert T‑SQL and Microsoft SQL Server proficiency.
• Expert Python and REST API development experience.
• Strong Azure data services experience (Azure SQL, Data Factory, Synapse, Blob Storage).
• Knowledge of Power BI data modeling and performance optimization.
• HIPAA/HITRUST familiarity for healthcare data.
• Experience leading teams and establishing best practices.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable, secure Azure data architectures for BI and analytics.
• Build and maintain data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Synapse.
• Oversee database designs across Azure SQL, PostgreSQL, CosmosDB.
• Implement DevOps practices including schema versioning and deployment automation.
• Ensure data integrity, security, lineage, and HIPAA compliance.
• Lead ETL/ELT processes and event-driven data processing with Azure messaging services.
• Mentor junior engineers and guide architectural decisions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
