Job summary

Stout in Chicago is seeking a coding specialist to enhance our Healthcare Consulting practice. This role requires detailed reviews of inpatient medical records to ensure accuracy in coding and compliance. You'll analyze billing practices and support audits and investigations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years of recent acute-care inpatient facility coding experience.
• Strong experience with DRG and PCS coding, including auditing.
• Active coding credential required (CCS, CIC, RHIT, or RHIA).

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed reviews of inpatient medical records to assess accuracy of coding.
• Analyze coding, billing, and reimbursement practices.
• Support forensic analyses to identify compliance risks.
