Job summary

Avangrid is seeking a Manager - Health & Safety to lead a dispersed team of H&S professionals across multiple operating units in New York. The role ensures compliance with federal, state and local laws, OSHA and related regulations while driving safety training, incident investigations and program improvements.

The incumbent will manage programs across air and water compliance, hazardous materials, and risk reduction, partnering with unions and external consultants to sustain a strong safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in EHS, Engineering or related field with 7+ years of Environmental, Health and Safety experience.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state and local regulatory codes (DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, NFPA, EPA, NESC).
• Experience with EHS regulatory frameworks for utility industry.
• Familiarity with ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and related management systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee multiple divisions to ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations.
• Manage environmental, health and safety programs and personnel.
• Ensure compliance for air pollution control, waste management, wastewater, storage and hazardous materials.
• Lead risk reduction strategy and partner with operations to implement solutions.
• Implement ISO 14001/45001 requirements and verify safety policies.
