Job summary

Par Health in St. Louis seeks a Sr. H&S Engineer to strengthen safety performance through training, risk assessments, and compliance with OSHA standards. The role leads JSA development, mentors staff, and drives EHS metrics across the site.

You will collaborate with engineering on design reviews, support emergency response, and ensure continuous improvement of safety programs within the EHS Department.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational, Safety and Health Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience as a Safety Professional.
• Experience in pharmaceutical/chemical manufacturing with hazardous materials preferred.
• Experience with audits/inspections for regulatory compliance.
• Ability to communicate technical data to diverse audiences.
• Must wear PPE and work in varying conditions.
• Knowledge of 29 CFR Part 1910 and Part 1926.
• HAZWOPER training (40-hour) and chemical vulnerability certification are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe, quality working environment through training and compliance with OSHA standards.
• Lead efforts to improve site safety culture and analyze safety performance.
• Develop and mentor others in Job Safety Analyses and risk assessments.
• Maintain records and monitor EHS metrics for the St. Louis Plant.
• Investigate injuries and incidents and prepare reports.
• Support capital projects with PtD and design reviews to reduce hazards.
• Coordinate with engineering staff on safety during start-up and changes.
• Lead/root-cause analysis teams and participate in corporate EHS initiatives.
• Provide EHS support for Management of Change activities and emergencies.
