Job summary

Wing in Palo Alto, CA is seeking a Senior Hardware Validation Engineer to join the Electrical Engineering team onsite. You will lead system-level validation and optimization for aircraft and ground infrastructure, ensuring hardware quality and reliability.

You will collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers to design verification plans, run tests, and resolve issues from concept to mass production, contributing to next-generation unmanned delivery technology.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in consumer electronics/embedded system design engineering.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Experience coordinating OEM/ODM/JDM/CM partners and working with CPU/chipset, memory vendors.
• Understand the product development process for mass-volume production with focus on DFM and DFT.
• Experience in signal/power integrity, simulation and lab correlation; scripting for test automation.

Responsibilities

• Technical Leader managing overall hardware system design integrity and quality optimization of our aircraft and ground infrastructure.
• Lead cross functional collaboration in owning test plan development, managing validation plans, troubleshooting issues, and documenting results to ensure product design quality and system performance.
• Lead complete design verification planning and test execution, including signal characterization, power delivery and system interoperability testing through leveraging internal and partner resources.
• Lead cross-functional teams and drive issues resolution including those related to hardware architecture, system performance, production quality and overall system integration.
• Lead contract manufacturing partners and suppliers on transitioning products from concept to mass production and partner with engineering team leaders to assess the technical feasibility of the system program schedule.

About the Role:

Wing is looking for a Senior Hardware Validation Engineer to join our Electrical Engineering team. This role is onsite based in Palo Alto, CA. As an Senior Hardware Validation Engineer, you will join our nimble design team, which is tasked with building unmanned, autonomous delivery vehicles and their support systems. You will be responsible for hardware product excellence by leading system-level design validation and performance optimization. You will contribute your experience in system hardware design and verification, as well as your knowledge of the overall system architecture for both our aircraft and ground infrastructure. Additionally, you will define the hardware system quality and validation strategy for new products regarding high-speed interfaces, signal/power integrity, system integration, user experience, and more.

What You’ll Do:

What You’ll Need:

• 8+ years of experience in consumer electronics/embedded system design engineering, including CPU/SoC, memory, high speed communication interfaces, low speed busses and/or power supplies.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, System Engineering, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience managing OEM/ODM/JDM/CM partners and working with CPU/chipset, memory vendors.
• Understand the entire product development process for mass-volume production design, with focus on design for manufacturing and design for test.
• Experience in one of these: signal/power integrity simulation and lab correlation in both frequency & time domain. Software programming for test automation and validation script development.
• Applied experience with interface technologies: CAN, USB, I2C, RS232, Ethernet and aircraft system technologies: GPS; IMUs; Air Data Systems; Servos/Motors; Cameras and RF Communications.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is the salary range below + bonus + equity + benefits. Wing’s salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your location during the hiring process.

Salary Range: $211,000 USD - $224,000 USD
