Job summary

Gatik is seeking a Senior/Staff Vehicle Reliability Engineer to develop reliability tests and validation plans for AV hardware components. You will work with internal and external teams to ensure tests meet project goals and provide feedback for development. The role is onsite five days a week at the Santa Clara, CA office.

You will lead DFMEA efforts, collect and analyze data, and design test profiles while collaborating across hardware, vehicle, and software teams to advance Level 4 autonomy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering required.
• 5+ years in engineering testing & validation in the hardware space.
• Experience with automotive, trucking, aerospace, robotics or automation industries.
• Proven ability to define and manage mechanical and environmental tests for vehicle/robot components.
• Familiar with CAN/LIN/Automotive Ethernet and data acquisition systems.
• Experience using accelerometers, strain gauges, thermocouples, and related equipment.

Responsibilities

• Create reliability test and validation plans for AV hardware components and subsystems.
• Lead DFMEA efforts within Hardware and Vehicle groups.
• Instrument and collect data to support testing and validation.
• Design custom test profiles from field measurements and requirements.
• Execute tests and manage outsourced testing activities as needed.
• Interpret test data and generate reports for cross-functional teams.
• Design and maintain test equipment and infrastructure.
• Lead test campaigns for components or subsystems.
• Support reliability and performance benchmarks for custom components.
