Job summary

SGS Consulting in Sacramento, CA is seeking a hardware validation engineer to perform power validation on consumer electronics such as VR headsets, and to generate comprehensive test plans, data reports, and documentation.

You will support prototype bring-up and debugging, execute system-level PMIC validations, collaborate with contract manufacturers to review plans and resolve issues, and develop Python automation to shorten validation cycles.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent; Masters preferred.
• 4+ years in consumer electronics power validations and hardware debugging.
• 2+ years in automation using Python.

Responsibilities

• Perform hardware validation on consumer electronics – VR headsets.
• Generate power characterization test plans, data reporting, and documentation.
• Support prototype bring-up and debugging.
• Perform system-level PMIC validations, including: Power ON/OFF sequenceLoad and line regulations/transientsCharge/discharge profilesCollaborate with Contract Manufacturing (CM) to:Review validation plansAnalyze test dataResolve hardware issuesDevelop automation scripts in Python to reduce validation cycle time.
