Job description

Thanks for your interest in Oklo! We are searching for an Integration Engineer to join our team.

Position Description

Oklo is transforming the future of energy, and we’re looking for a senior Integration Engineer to join our Systems Engineering team and help drive the successful integration of complex hardware systems from design through validation, verification and deployment. This role is ideal for a systems‑minded engineer with 5–10 years of experience working across Systems Engineering, Integration and Test, hardware engineering, project execution, and procurement teams in a highly regulated industry. You will be responsible for aligning cross-functional stakeholders around system and product integration plans, identifying and resolving technical and programmatic integration risks, and ensuring that interfaces, requirements, test objectives, and delivery plans are well understood and executed.

Specific responsibilities may include:
  • Develop and maintain system and product integration plans, including integration sequencing, interface readiness, test objectives, risk areas, and cross‑functional dependencies.
  • Drive alignment across systems engineering, hardware engineering, integration and test, project management, procurement, suppliers, and other stakeholders to support successful system integration.
  • Identify, track, and help resolve technical and programmatic integration risks, gaps, and blockers across complex hardware systems.
  • Support requirements flow down, interface management, verification planning, integration readiness reviews, and test readiness activities.
  • Coordinate integration‑related inputs across design, procurement, manufacturing, assembly, test, and delivery schedules to ensure teams are working from a shared plan.
  • Communicate integration status, risks, decisions, and priorities clearly to technical teams, project leadership, and cross‑functional stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as nuclear engineering, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, systems engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 5–10 years of experience in systems engineering and integration of complex hardware systems.
  • Proven experience working with Systems Engineering, Integration and Test, or SEIT‑type teams in a cross‑functional engineering environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate across diverse technical teams, including engineering, project management, procurement, manufacturing, suppliers, and test organizations.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to drive alignment across teams with competing priorities.
  • Experience supporting system integration activities in a highly regulated or technically complex industry.
Bonus Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in engineering, systems engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Proficiency with systems engineering tools, solutions, and processes for requirements management, interface management, verification planning, or system architecture.
  • Experience with interface control drawings within CAD platforms (such as Solidworks, NX, etc.)
  • Familiarity with systems engineering standards, frameworks, or professional practices such as INCOSE.
  • Experience applying Model‑Based Systems Engineering principles, methods, or tools.
  • Experience working in highly regulated industries such as nuclear, aerospace, defense, medical devices, energy, or similar complex hardware environments.
  • Experience supporting integrated product teams, supplier integration, test readiness reviews, verification and validation planning, or complex hardware delivery programs.
We are looking for an Integration Engineer that is:
  • Organized – Maintains clear plans, priorities, documentation, and follow‑through across multiple technical workstreams, stakeholders, and integration milestones.
  • Passion – Demonstrates enthusiasm for clean energy, advanced fission, and systems thinking, with a strong desire to help deliver complex technologies that can have meaningful real‑world impact.
  • Proactive – Anticipates integration risks, gaps, and misalignments early, and takes initiative to drive clarity, decisions, and action before issues become blockers.
  • Results‑driven – Focuses on practical execution, measurable progress, and successful outcomes while balancing technical rigor, schedule needs, and cross‑functional constraints.
  • Highly effective communicator – Communicates clearly and credibly across engineering, project, procurement, supplier, and leadership audiences, translating complex technical information into actionable plans and decisions.
Who you are

Startup person: Not driven by titles or hierarchy, preferring efficiency to excess process. Comfortable working independently in a fast‑paced team. Willing to travel to headquarters and other designated locations as needed.

Motivated: Self‑motivated with enthusiasm for the team and the mission, focused on tangible contributions rather than status or work‑life balance signals.

A team‑player: Collaborative, shares ownership, and refrains from blaming others for outcomes.

An excellent communicator: Technically competent with clear, upbeat communication skills.

Creative: Identifies problems outside clear scope and invents solutions without micromanagement.

Detail‑oriented: Maintains high standards of grammar, spelling, and overall quality in communication.

Travel & Benefits
