Job summary

PIXCEL in Matawan, NJ is seeking an experienced analog/mixed-signal engineer to design precision analog circuits and power supplies for sensing and imaging applications. You will bring boards from schematic through bring-up, contributing to real product development.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team of optical, electrical, mechanical, and software engineers, using Altium Designer for schematic capture and PCB layout, and you will test with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and power

Qualifications

• Deep analog circuit design expertise including op-amp topologies and low-noise techniques.
• Proven experience designing buck converters, switching regulators, and LDOs.
• Expert-level proficiency in Altium Designer for schematic capture and libraries.
• Strong PCB layout skills with signal and power integrity focus.
• Experience with PCIe routing and LVDS signaling.
• Hands-on board bring-up using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power analyzers.
• Familiarity with EMC/EMI design practices and pre-compliance testing is a plus.

PIXCEL (https://www.pixcel.com) develops novel semiconductor-based photonic modules aimed at sensing and imaging applications.

What you'll do:

• Design precision analog circuits, including op-amp topologies, low-noise amplification stages, current sources, and filtering networks.
• Design power supply architectures, including buck converters, switching regulators, and LDO linear regulators.
• Perform schematic capture and PCB layout in Altium Designer, including component library management and design-rule-driven workflows.
• Lay out high-speed digital interfaces such as PCIe (differential pairs, impedance control, AC coupling) and LVDS signaling, with attention to signal and power integrity.
• Bring up and debug boards using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and power analyzers to diagnose issues down to the component level.
• Collaborate with optical, electrical, mechanical, and software engineers on integrated product designs.

Minimum requirements:

• Deep analog circuit design expertise, including op-amp topologies, precision current sources, filtering, and low-noise design techniques.
• Proven experience designing power supplies, including buck converters, switching regulators, and low-dropout (LDO) linear regulators.
• Expert-level proficiency in Altium Designer, including schematic capture, component library management, and design-rule-driven workflows.
• Strong PCB layout skills with emphasis on signal integrity, power integrity, and mixed-signal (analog/digital) partitioning.
• Experience with high-speed digital interfaces, including PCIe routing (differential pairs, impedance control, AC coupling) and LVDS signaling.
• Hands-on experience with board bring-up and debug, including use of oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and power analyzers to diagnose hardware issues at the component level.
• Familiarity with EMC/EMI design practices, including pre-compliance testing and layout techniques for emissions and susceptibility mitigation, is a plus.
