Akima Facilities Operations in Fort Hood, TX seeks a Gunsmith III for advanced repair, diagnostics, and calibration of small arms and heavy ordnance on-site. The role requires senior journeyman experience and strict vault security.

Responsibilities include mentorship of junior armorers, documentation, and adherence to manuals. Requirements: 8–10 years of small arms repair, 92Y Unit Armor Certification, MS Office, and ability to pass screenings.

Qualificações

• 8–10 years of professional small arms repair experience.
• Completed 92Y Unit Armor Certification Course: 551-F29 (MTT-A/G) or equivalent civilian training.
• Experienced user with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsabilidades

• Inspection & Diagnostics: Perform initial acceptance checks, complete teardowns, and advanced troubleshooting of structural, mechanical, or electronic weapon malfunctions using specialized diagnostic tools.
• Repair & Overhaul: Replace worn, broken, or obsolete parts on pistols, rifles, shotguns, submachine guns, and heavy artillery in strict accordance with technical manuals and manufacturer specs.
• Testing & Calibration: Align, adjust, and test-fire repaired weapon systems to verify optimal function, precision, and accuracy.
• Compliance & Security: Maintain physical vault safety, strict inventory accountability for sensitive items and ammunition, and accurate maintenance logs.
• Leadership: Train, mentor, and supervise subordinate armorers and lower level gunsmithing personnel.
