Job summary

Mainspring Energy is seeking an electrical engineer to own system-level architecture for grid-interactive power delivery of the Linear Generator. The role focuses on integration and validation of high-power conversion hardware, leading in lab characterization and stability testing before customer deployment.

You will guide selection and configuration of grid-interactive inverters, perform root-cause analysis, and collaborate with mechanical, thermal, controls, test, and software teams to ensure

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on inverter/power conversion experience.
• Strong troubleshooting of AC power systems.
• Experience with 400-800 Vac and up to 1500 Vdc HV systems.
• Knowledge of NEC NFPA 70 grounding and protection.
• Experience with grid-interconnection inverters testing.
• Ability to lead root-cause analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead selection and configuration of grid-interactive inverters.
• Troubleshoot hardware issues in lab, field, and test setups.
• Tune inverter parameters for grid-forming/following modes.
• Design tests for LVRT and frequency response.
• Analyze AC waveforms, power quality, fault behavior.
• Ensure compliance with IEEE 1547, UL 1741 and local standards.
• Collaborate cross-functionally for system performance and manufacturability.
