As an offshoot of Gwinnett Magazine and Best of Gwinnett, the lab builds on over 25 years of experience helping local organizations share their stories through regional publications. The space is designed for meetings, photo shoots, video production, podcast production, and coworking, providing a collaborative environment for creative work. Located in Historic Downtown Buford, GA, it offers a relaxed, small-town setting with great local amenities, ideal for close-to-home retreats and creative sessions.

Role Description

The Senior Graphic Designer is a full-time hybrid role based in Buford, GA, with the flexibility to work part of the time from home. This role is responsible for leading the design of visual assets across print, digital, and social channels, including branding campaigns, marketing collateral, and storytelling-focused projects for clients and internal initiatives. Day-to-day tasks include developing creative concepts, producing graphics and layouts, refining visual identity systems, and collaborating with marketing, editorial, and production teams to ensure consistent brand representation. The Senior Graphic Designer will also mentor junior creatives, manage multiple projects and timelines, and contribute to art direction for photo shoots, video, and podcast-related visuals within the Story Road Marketing Lab facility.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong skills in Graphic Design and Graphics for both digital and print media.
• Candidates should possess skills in Logo Design and Branding to create and maintain cohesive visual identities.
• Candidates should possess skills in Typography to ensure clear, engaging, and visually balanced communication.
• Proficiency in industry-standard design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Cloud: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) is expected.
• Experience leading creative projects, managing deadlines, and collaborating with cross-functional teams is beneficial.
• A portfolio demonstrating storytelling-focused design work and brand development across multiple channels is strongly preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, including on-site collaboration in Historic Downtown Buford.
