Job summary

University of Rochester seeks an experienced financial administrator to oversee budgets, grants, and payroll for the Gorbunova and Seluanov laboratories and the Nathan Shock Center. You will coordinate interdepartmental and cross-institution projects, manage NIH/NIA reporting, and ensure compliance with complex funding requirements.

The role requires strong data management, Microsoft Office, Workday/IORA proficiency, and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
5 years of relevant experience required.
3–5 years’ experience in academic department/university accounting desired.

Responsibilities

Oversee finances for the Gorbunova and Seluanov laboratories and the Nathan Shock Center.
Coordinate and prepare budgets, grant ledgers, and fiscal reports in compliance with NIH/NIA guidelines.
Manage Pilot grant processes, including solicitations, peer review, and award administration.
Review Notices of Award (NOA) and set up new accounts.
Produce monthly reconciliations of sponsored research ledgers.
Organize annual conferences and related travel logistics for multiple centers.
Provide financial oversight and administrative support to the Center director and related PIs.
