Job summary

Michigan Medicine is seeking a Senior/Intermediate Grants & Contracts Specialist to provide pre-award support across Internal Medicine divisions. The role focuses on Gastroenterology/Hepatology, Hospital Medicine, and Rheumatology with hybrid work flexibility.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree and 3–7 years of grant/contract experience, with advanced degrees preferred. Expertise with NIH policies and experience with eResearch tools is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 5+ years of progressive grant and contract experience or equivalent.
• Advanced degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Proactively identify external funding opportunities and advise faculty on proposal planning and competitiveness.
• Assist faculty with completion of sponsor and institutional proposal documents for initial submission, including collection of required materials from PIs and subcontract sites.
• Prepare and review budgets and budget justifications for academic and research projects.
