Qualifications

Job description

W!SE is a dynamic and fast-growing national education nonprofit dedicated to promoting financial education and preparing youth for college and workplace success. We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our development team as Senior Grants Manager. The successful candidate will be a motivated individual with outstanding writing and relationship skills as well as a proven track record securing grants.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Identify corporate, family foundation and government grant opportunities that closely align with our programs and organizational strategy; recommend strong prospects
  • Write accurate, compelling letters of inquiry and grant proposals that communicate a compelling case about W!se and our programs
  • Steward relationships with institutional funders and secure grants from existing and prospective sources of funding
  • Manage the full grant cycle from tracking to report-writing and submissions, working closely with program managers and staff to ensure accurate reporting of data and impact.
  • Track grant application and grant deliverables, reporting deadlines, proposal acceptances and rejections etc. in the organization’s CRM system
  • Work closely with program managers to stay current with new developments relevant to our mission that will influence and shape grant requests
  • Keep informed of trends in philanthropy that may influence W!se’s approach to institutional fundraising.
REQUIRED SKILLS
  • Minimum B.A. or B.S.
  • 4-5 years’ experience in grant/proposal writing
  • Excellent knowledge of proposal submission and fundraising process
  • Strong research skills and knowledge of information sources
  • Evidence of success in securing significant grants for a not-for-profit
  • Superior writing and oral communication skills
  • Ability to oversee multiple tasks and perform well under pressure
  • High degree of computer proficiency and experience with CRM systems
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a team player.
