Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center, Department of Neurology, seeks an administrative professional to support researchers by identifying funding opportunities, assisting with proposals, negotiating contracts, receiving awards, and assisting in administration. This role contributes to a nationally recognized neuroscience research program in Dallas, TX.

Under minimal supervision, you will guide researchers on proposal development, provide grants management support, and help ensure adherence to sponsor

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service in financial or contracting position.
• Knowledge of grants management and contracting processes is a plus.
• Able to interpret sponsor and university guidelines to assist in proposal development.

Responsibilities

• Gathers and provides information on funding opportunities and application procedures to applicants.
• Provides guidance to researchers for proposal development and submission.
• Provides grants management support by negotiating and processing awards and obtaining approvals for award modifications.
• Negotiates contracts with various agencies and organizations to reach satisfactory agreements.
• May draft contracts following state laws and Board of Regents' guidelines.
• Supervises Grants and Contracts Specialist and administrative staff.
