Job summary

The Senior Grants & Contracts Accounting Analyst at the University of North Texas System will administer highly complex research grant awards and budgets to maintain fiscal compliance and minimize liability campus-wide. You will review awards, prepare invoices, and support audits while providing guidance to the Post Award team.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's in Business/Finance/Accounting or related field with 4 years of relevant experience, strong math and communication skills, and the

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, Higher Ed or related and 4 years related professional or research work experience.
• High level math skills and accounting knowledge.
• Strong reading comprehension and ability to interpret guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Set up complex awards and understand terms and conditions; manage award setup and closeout in financial system.
• Review invoicing requirements; prepare and submit invoices with supporting docs; track receivables and follow up on delinquencies.
• Provide guidance to the Post Award team; mentor staff and oversee workload; ensure timely communication and collaboration with researchers and sponsors.
• Stay current in research administration to mitigate campuswide risk and support audits.
• Prepare financial reports for complex projects, assist with audits, and develop internal controls and training.
