Atrium Staffing LLC assists a well-established higher education client in New Jersey to hire a Senior Grants Accountant. The role requires grant accounting experience and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities include processing invoices, ensuring grant accounting compliance, reconciling sub-ledgers, and supporting nonprofit/government accounting activities. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred, with ERP or nonprofit software experience considered a plus.

Qualifications

• Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work independently.
• Strong Excel skills and excellent attention to detail are essential.
• Grant accounting experience is required; nonprofit/government accounting exposure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Process and code invoices; perform matching, batching, and data entry.
• Manage grant accounting activities and ensure compliance with funding requirements.
• Research and resolve accounts payable issues with customers and vendors.
• Update and reconcile sub-ledgers to the general ledger.
• Support nonprofit and government accounting functions.
