Job summary

Sciforium is seeking a GPU Kernel Engineer to push performance on modern accelerators, designing and optimizing custom GPU kernels powering large-scale AI systems across low-level kernel development and high-level ML frameworks.

You will collaborate with ML researchers and hardware partners, integrate kernels into PyTorch/JAX, and help scale our multimodal AI platform. This role offers impactful work with competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of GPU kernel development or HPC experience.
• Degrees in CS/CE/EE or related field.
• Strong C++, Python and ML framework familiarity.
• Deep CUDA/ROCm, memory models and optimization expertise.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize custom GPU kernels using C++, PTX, CUDA, ROCm, Triton, and/or JAX Pallas.
• Profile and optimize end-to-end performance of ML operations for large-scale training and inference.
• Integrate low-level kernels into PyTorch, JAX, and internal runtimes.
• Develop performance models and identify bottlenecks for kernel improvements.
• Collaborate with ML researchers and model-serving teams to optimize compute across the stack.
• Work with hardware vendors and stay current on GPU architectures and toolchains.
• Contribute to tooling, documentation, benchmarking suites, and testing frameworks.
