Job summary

Battelle in Columbus, OH seeks a Security Specialist III to oversee SCI programs, safeguarding and compliance with classified information. The role requires US citizenship, an active Top Secret clearance (SCI eligibility preferred), and the ability to work independently and with teams under DoD/IC guidelines.

The candidate will coordinate clearance processes, maintain records, and support government security operations, reporting to the Director of Government Security.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 3–5 years of CSSO/FSO experience.
• Experience with client security databases such as DISS, NBIS, and NISS.
• Experience with Windows OS and SharePoint.
• Must be a US citizen with Top Secret/SCI clearance eligibility.
• Ability to travel up to 5–10% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Assist with security clearance processes for staff, consultants and KMP.
• Coordinate clearance requirements for classified meetings and visits.
• Interpret security regulations and advise on clearance management and debriefings.
• Serve as liaison with US Government clients on security matters.
• Maintain auditable official records for government inspections.
• Develop security education materials and conduct briefings.
• Support program compliance for classified initiatives.
