Job summary

TD Bank Group in Washington, DC is seeking a Senior Government Relations Manager to protect and advance TD Bank's interests with government affairs. You will oversee political, legislative and regulatory programs across multiple initiatives, coordinating with executives and regional presidents to align policy positions and advocacy activities.

You will lead complex initiatives, monitor regulatory trends, and build goodwill with officials, ensuring TD Bank's policy objectives are integrated

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree or relevant professional certifications, designations, or equivalent required.
• 7+ years of government relations experience with a major multinational organization, a congressional staff member, or as a senior public servant.
• Advanced working knowledge of governmental operations at all levels – Federal, State, and Local.
• Thorough understanding of U.S. congressional and Executive Branch policy‑making processes; including the U.S. regulatory structure and roles of Executive agencies, The White House, Senate and House.
• Advanced knowledge of government relations disciplines, relationship management, external business environment, government structures, banking industry and internal customers.
• Knowledge of risk management environment, standards, and regulations.
• Ability to lead, plan, implement, and evaluate program/project activities; negotiate and influence outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Protect and enhance TD Bank's interests with government affairs.
• Oversee development and execution of political, legislative and regulatory programs and strategies.
• Build and manage relationships with executive, legislative and regulatory officials.
