Job summary

Qualifications

• Five years of accounting experience (preferably governmental)
• At least two years in a supervisory capacity
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration or equivalent
• Proof of education, training, and/or experience required
• Accounting/finance experience in a large or nonprofit organization preferred

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily finance needs with the Division Finance Manager and improve accounting processes and internal controls
• Learn Permits system and develop financial analysis reports; identify variances and corrective actions
• Perform, oversee and review general and specialized accounting functions (revenue reports, accounts payable, grants)
• Monitor operating budgets for compliance, analyze trends, projections and variances
• Prepare requisitions, check requests, refunds, and vendor contracts
• Supervise and direct work of accounting staff
• Collaborate with office staff on financial accounts
• Maintain accounting records involving technical data
• Prepare financial analyses and management reports as needed
• Perform other related duties as assigned
