Job summary

Softthink Solutions Inc. in Washington, DC seeks a Cloud Architect to lead design and optimization of an AWS GovCloud environment. You will provide on‑demand consulting on cloud architecture, security, efficiency, and IaC best practices to ensure secure, compliant cloud operations.

The role requires 10+ years in AWS/cloud design, Terraform experience, and security clearance readiness for SECRET level. You will mentor USITC teams and collaborate with COR/CO for approvals and compliance actions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related field.
• 10+ years experience designing and managing AWS cloud environments.
• Experience with FedRAMP Moderate or other regulated federal cloud environments.
• Terraform IaC blueprint development experience.

Responsibilities

• AWS Architecture Design — Provide expert guidance on cloud design, scalability, resiliency, and secure‑by‑default patterns.
• Security & Compliance Oversight — Ensure all cloud operations meet FedRAMP Moderate, USITC directives, and NISPOM requirements.
• Cost Optimization & Efficiency — Advise on cost‑saving strategies and resource right‑sizing.
• Infrastructure‑as‑Code Leadership — Guide Terraform architectural efforts and reproducible IaC blueprints.
• DevOps & Engineering Mentorship — Mentor teams on IaC principles, DevOps workflows, and secure cloud operations.
• Cloud Management Support — Assist with monitoring, networking, storage, compute provisioning, and governance.
• Incident & Access Security Compliance — Prevent unauthorized access and report breaches within 1 hour.
• Collaboration with COR/CO — Coordinate with USITC COR/CO for approvals and reporting.
