Job summary

Skool’s engineering team is seeking highly experienced Backend Software Engineers with a passion for developing performant and scalable backend services written in Go. You will collaborate with Product Management, Designers, Engineers, and other stakeholders to determine the best way to design and implement new systems. You will also help to maintain and extend existing services.

This is a 100% remote position. Skool has an office in Los Angeles, CA but works as a distributed team.

Qualifications

• Significant professional Go experience.
• 8+ years building high-performance, distributed systems.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, Elasticsearch.
• Extensive experience building and maintaining Web Services.
• Experience in database performance optimization, backend performance optimization, and debugging live production services.

Responsibilities

• Solve technical problems of high scope and complexity.
• Take full ownership designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining Skool backend features, end-to-end.
• Build and maintain internal tools and infrastructure.
• Communicate and author architectural designs and requirements.
• Maintain and advocate for high standards through code review and collaboration between yourself and other engineers.
