Job description

CoAspire is a cutting-edge defense manufacturing leader in Northern Virginia, specializing in the precision assembly of advanced weapons systems. With over twelve years of a legacy of innovation, we're at the forefront of building reliable, affordable mass weapons that protect and empower our nation’s warfighters. Our tight-knit team thrives in a collaborative environment where safety, quality, and work-life balance come first with a focus on professional growth at our new 27,000+ sq. ft. facility. Join us to make a tangible impact on mission-critical technology while enjoying Northern Virginia's vibrant community.

What you will do:

You will perform a key analytical and modeling role in aerodynamic design, performance prediction, and trajectory optimization for our weapons systems. Working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, you will develop high-fidelity computational models to predict and optimize system behavior across flight profiles, ensuring alignment with program performance and mission requirements.

  • Learn OpenGL modeling, support, and maintain tools for telemetry visualization
  • Learn Digital Terrain Elevation Data (DTED) processing to support development of terrain following, terrain avoidance, and terrain-matching navigation algorithms
  • Help develop telemetry processing tools to support post-flight analysis
  • Develop automated regression testing, unit tests, and integration tests to ensure code functionality and integrity.
  • Assist engineering leadership in diagnosing performance issues, evaluating design trade-offs, and recommending optimizations.
  • Prepare clear technical documentation, analysis summaries, charts, and presentations for internal reviews and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to process improvements, trajectory tools, optimization algorithms, or workflow enhancements.

Base Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years C/C++ coding experience with an understanding of algorithms (sorting, lookup tables, interpolation).
  • Bachelor’s degree in any Engineering discipline.
  • Proficiency in: Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, Android Studio, or other IDE, Git, C++ GUI development, and parsing command line parameters, and Mathematics – specifically algebra, trigonometry, and calculus
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain security clearance or background-screening requirements.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree in software engineering or electrical engineering
  • An ability to learn new things quickly

Beyond competitive pay, we offer:

  • Full benefits beginning first of month following hire: medical, dental and vision
  • 401(k) with generous company match and immediate vesting
  • PTO and Federal holidays

The anticipated salary range for this position is $100,000-$160,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity.
