Job description

Who We Are

Aurora’s mission is to deliver the benefits of self-driving technology safely, quickly, and broadly.

The Aurora Driver will create a new era in mobility and logistics, one that will bring a safer, more efficient, and more accessible future to everyone.

At Aurora, you will tackle massively complex problems alongside other passionate, intelligent individuals, growing as an expert while expanding your knowledge. For the latest news from Aurora, visit aurora.tech or follow us on LinkedIn.

What We Are Looking For

Aurora hires talented people with diverse backgrounds who are ready to help build a transportation ecosystem that will make our roads safer, get crucial goods where they need to go, and make mobility more efficient and accessible for all. We're searching for a Global Supply Manager (GSM) – Semiconductor & EE Commodities to own who we buy from, at what cost, at what terms, and the daily execution that keeps production and the business running for our semiconductor, PCBA, and electronic component categories. This GSM is the primary point of contact for both component suppliers and our PCBA Contract Manufacturer(s) on day-to-day execution, issuing and maintaining POs, resolving shortages and escalations, keeping invoices and POs aligned, and managing changes as they hit the supply base.

In this role, you will
  • Lead supplier and CM communication for execution of PO management, expediting, invoice alignment, and change management activities across the semiconductor, PCBA, and electronic component categories.
  • Own PO management: generate and update POs for sourced parts based on the latest BOM revision, quote and issue POs for builds (components and CM build POs), and ensure compliance to executed contracts.
  • Expedite parts and serve as the first escalation point for planners on shortages, expedites, and commercial issues with component suppliers, distributors, and the CM alike.
  • Partner with the CM on day-to-day execution: track build schedules and turn times, manage kitting and component-to-CM logistics, and coordinate on quality escapes, NCRs, and rework/scrap resolution.
  • Partner with Accounts Payable on invoice/PO alignment and reconciliation across component suppliers and CM invoices, and work to keep Aurora off credit hold with suppliers.
  • Manage changes end-to-end: communicate engineering or program changes to suppliers and the CM, confirm suppliers and CM can meet cut-in dates, negotiate excess & obsolete (E&O) exposure, and update POs accordingly.
  • Identify and drive cost reduction opportunities in partnership with Engineering, Supplier Quality, and the CM.
  • Track order status, lead times, CM capacity/build slots, and supplier performance closely enough to flag risk before it becomes a production issue.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in purchasing and commodity management with a semiconductor or electronics focus, including ownership of a high-mix component portfolio across multiple concurrent programs.
  • Working knowledge of semiconductor device types, packaging, and PCBA manufacturing processes.
  • Strong operational execution skills, including generating and managing high-volume Purchase Orders based on dynamic BOM revisions.
  • Proven track record as the primary escalation point for materials planners and Contract Manufacturers; expediting parts, resolving commercial shortages, and closing out issues without needing to escalat to management.
  • Proficiency working with Accounts Payable to reconcile invoice discrepancies and manage supplier credit standing.
  • Experience executing end-to-end change management with suppliers, including securing cut-in dates and mitigating Excess & Obsolete (E&O) exposure.
  • Tenacity and a "can-do" attitude in a dynamic, fast-changing environment, with excellent communication skills to align Engineering, Quality, and external suppliers.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Advanced proficiency with major ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and PLM tools (e.g., Agile, Arena) for PO and BOM management.
  • Experience navigating semiconductor allocation cycles and shortages using tactical mitigation strategies (e.g., managing broker buys, spot market sourcing).
  • Familiarity with export control / ITAR considerations for electronic components.
  • Knowledge of automotive or other safety-critical/high-reliability component qualification standards (e.g., AEC-Q, IPC).
  • Experience collaborating with Contract Manufacturers (CMs) on component-to-CM logistics, kitting, and rework/scrap resolution.
