AstraZeneca plc in Gaithersburg, MD seeks a Global Clinical Development Medical Director to lead medical strategy for infectious diseases, oversee safety and data interpretation, and collaborate across Safety, Biostatistics, Regulatory, Clinical Operations, and Translational Medicine. Office-based with 3 days/week on-site.

MD or MD/PhD required; 1–3 years in clinical drug development preferred; strong communication and leadership skills; AI/digital mindset a plus.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified physician with clinical experience in infectious disease or pulmonology.
• Experience designing, executing, and interpreting trials (Phase 1–3).
• Strong teamwork and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication, including presentations.

Responsabilités

• Provide medical and scientific leadership in global development of infectious disease medicines.
• Design, execute, and interpret clinical trials from Phase 1 through Phase 3.
• Build relationships with external scientists, site investigators, and key stakeholders.
