Job summary

Google is seeking a Category Manager to define and execute sourcing for data center infrastructure equipment. You will leverage broad industry knowledge and supplier relationships to optimize total cost of ownership across Google's global infrastructure.

This role combines strategic sourcing with hands-on negotiation and supplier management. As part of the AI and Infrastructure teams, you will influence decisions impacting hardware selection, lead time, cost, and capacity while collaborating

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in procurement and supply chain management.
  • 5 years of experience in category or commodity management, contract negotiation and supplier development.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver sourcing and supply chain objectives for products in the Data Center Infrastructure space.
  • Develop and execute category strategies to achieve total cost of ownership, lead time, capacity, innovation and quality objectives for the products managed through close collaboration with Google cross-functional teams (engineering, quality, operations, finance, etc.).
  • Conduct complex strategic technology negotiations including comprehensive contractual agreements to deliver cost, lead time and capacity objectives for the organization.
  • Implement supply chain, inventory and process improvements through supplier performance metrics, scorecards, business continuity plans and regular business reviews.

Job description

Minimum qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in procurement and supply chain management.
  • 5 years of experience in category or commodity management, contract negotiation and supplier development.
Preferred qualifications
  • Master's degree in a technical or engineering field or MBA.
  • Experience working with general contractors, integrators and suppliers in a large infrastructure environment
  • Demonstrated experience with industrial engineering and construction programs, preferably data centers.
  • Direct experience managing Data Center Infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated strong leadership and influencing skills.

US: $188000 - $274000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits
