Job summary

Amerisure Insurance, a property and casualty company, seeks a Commercial GL & Auto Claims Specialist to handle high-complexity claims and build strong relationships with agents and policyholders. The role involves litigated files, strategic input on the book of business and collaboration with internal stakeholders.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years in GL/bodily injury claims, knowledge of contractual indemnification and additional insured coverages, and a proven ability to manage complex claims

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 6 years of experience handling general liability and/or bodily injury claims.
• Experience with contractual indemnification and additional insured coverages.
• AIC or SCLA certification preferred.
• Ability to obtain appropriate state licensing.
• Proficient Microsoft Office skills.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact with internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate proactively with agents, policyholders and internal stakeholders on high complexity/severity claims; provide strategic input on book of business.
• Investigate losses, identify coverage, evaluate liability and damages; review and analyze documents and pleadings.
• Collaborate with counsel to manage litigated claims and leverage past experience to analyze documents and pleadings.
• Develop plan of action to conclude claims, timely evaluate damages, engage others in negotiations and settle claims within guidelines.
• Establish and maintain proper reserves for each claim to reflect financial exposure.
• Determine need for, identify and engage external resources to execute resolutions while monitoring costs.
• Address contractual indemnifications and/or additional insured coverage issues.
• Review and interpret commercial policies and communicate coverage issues verbally and in writing.
• Participate on cross-functional teams to identify and resolve issues and design/implement preventive solutions.
