Job summary

Northern Trust is seeking a Principal Architect to lead GitHub Enterprise and Azure DevOps Platform Engineering, guiding strategy, architecture, governance, and modernization of enterprise software delivery platforms. You will shape CI/CD pipelines, software supply chain security, artifact management, and developer productivity services across the organization.

As a senior technical leader, you will drive platform transformation, migrate legacy CI/CD tooling, and enable self-service capabilities

Qualifications

10+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, Cloud Engineering, or software delivery platforms.
Proven experience architecting and operating enterprise-scale GitHub Enterprise and Azure DevOps environments.
Deep expertise in CI/CD architecture, pipeline engineering, and software delivery modernization.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills for executive audiences.

Responsibilities

Own the platform strategy, architecture, and governance for GitHub Enterprise, Azure DevOps, and related CI/CD platforms.
Drive modernization of software delivery capabilities and migration from legacy tooling to modern platforms.
Lead migration initiatives for enterprise-scale CI/CD transformations and establish reusable patterns and standards.
Lead design reviews, architecture governance, and engineering standards discussions.
