Job summary

Arcadis, the world’s leading design, engineering and consultancy company, is seeking a Principal GIS Management Consultant to guide water infrastructure projects across the US. Based in any Arcadis office, you’ll lead data management, GIS programs, and digital transformations while mentoring junior staff and coordinating with engineers, scientists and project managers.

The ideal candidate has 15+ years in data management, GIS and analytics, strong T-SQL and Python skills, ESRI enterprise GIS

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in data science, computer science, engineering, geographic information systems, information systems, or a related STEM field.
• 15 or more years of progressively responsible experience in data management, GIS, data engineering, analytics, systems integration, or related consulting and technology work.
• Demonstrated experience leading complex data and technology initiatives for utility, infrastructure, engineering, or other asset‑intensive organizations.
• Advanced experience designing, reviewing, and governing solutions that use T-SQL, Python, relational databases, ETL processes, APIs, system integrations, and automation.
• Demonstrated leadership of multidisciplinary teams, including technical oversight, quality assurance, risk management, mentoring, and delivery accountability.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted advisor translating business priorities into data management, GIS, and digital transformation strategies.
• Lead planning, design, and delivery of complex data and GIS programs with governance and schedules.
• Provide technical direction for data architecture, pipelines, databases, integrations, APIs, analytics, and automation.
• Guide data governance, quality management, security, and lifecycle practices to improve data asset value.
• Direct technical reviews, manage delivery risks, and ensure scalable, maintainable solutions.
• Lead client workshops, executive briefings, and prepare recommendations, roadmaps, and documentation.
• Mentor staff and promote knowledge sharing across delivery practices.
