Job summary

Langan Engineering & Environmental Services is seeking a Senior Project Manager – Geotechnical Engineering in New Haven, CT. You will lead geotechnical projects, supervise staff, prepare reports, and coordinate client interactions while guiding multi-disciplinary teams to deliver foundations, retaining walls, and related geotechnical work.

You will mentor junior engineers, review technical work, and ensure safety, quality, and schedule adherence across initiatives with diverse stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering or closely related field required.
• Professional Engineer licensure preferred or in process.
• Minimum 10+ years of geotechnical experience with leadership exposure.
• Experience with geotechnical investigations, design reports, and field inspections.
• Proficiency in geotechnical software listed above; strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare technical reports, specifications, construction plans, and geotechnical recommendations.
• Prepare proposals, coordinate projects, manage clients and billings.
• Provide mentorship and review staff work.
• Expand services and develop new clients while maintaining billability.
• Support excavation designs and PLAXIS 3D analysis.
• Log borings and monitor construction projects.
• Manage multiple projects within budgets and schedules.
