ECS Group of Companies in Charlottesville seeks a Geotechnical Senior Project Engineer to lead key client projects. You will manage project execution, provide technical oversight, ensure quality, and mentor junior staff.

You will oversee field exploration, perform analyses, and review designs while guiding teams and supporting business development in a collaborative, safety‑driven environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of geotechnical engineering experience.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) is required.
• Strong technical aptitude and knowledge of geotechnical principles.
• Experience leading and developing engineering teams.
• Excellent project management and communication skills.
• Business development experience.
• Knowledge of industry standards and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee full lifecycle of geotechnical engineering projects.
• Develop project scopes, budgets, schedules, and plans.
• Perform geotechnical analysis and engineering calculations.
• Supervise field exploration programs and interpret geotechnical data from boring layouts, utility clearances, and laboratory tests.
• Perform technical review of engineering designs, drawings, plans, and specifications.
• Provide coaching and guidance to junior engineers and project managers.
• Assist with business development efforts through community involvement and client engagement.
• Promote company values, positive culture, and high employee engagement.
