Job summary

Bunnell-Lammons Engineering, Inc. seeks an experienced Senior Engineer for its Geotechnical Group in Columbia, SC. You will lead geotechnical investigations, mentor staff, and manage complex projects from concept through reporting, ensuring technical excellence and client satisfaction.

Ideal candidates have a PE license in SC/NC, 6-8 years of relevant experience, and a strong background in geotechnical design and site characterization. Travel up to 10% is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with geotechnical focus; Masters preferred.
• 6-8 years of relevant professional experience.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in South Carolina or North Carolina, with ability to become licensed in additional southeastern states within six months.
• Knowledge of geotechnical design and construction requirements.
• Knowledge of geosynthetics.
• Ability to travel up to 10% of the time for site meetings, marketing, technical seminars, regulatory seminars, engineering workshops, and client development within the southeastern US.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert interpretation of analytical data in support of a wide variety of projects.
• Lead geotechnical investigations including site reconnaissance, drilling oversight, sampling, and field data collection. Assign soils laboratory testing.
• Interpret and utilize site data to make decisions to reach project objectives.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, maps, and presentations for clients, regulators, and internal teams.
• Ensure technical accuracy, consistency, and quality in deliverables.
• Act as a technical lead for complex environmental investigations and remediation projects.
• Apply advanced knowledge of environmental engineering principles, environmental regulations, and remediation technologies.
