Job summary

CDM Smith seeks a geotechnical/civil engineer to design and review excavation, dewatering, foundations, dams and related projects. You will ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, mentor junior staff, and contribute to technical papers and proposals.

Requirements include a PE license, a bachelor's in geotechnical/civil/mining/geologic engineering, and at least 7 years of related experience. Domestic/international travel may be required, with up to 40% travel expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical, Civil, Mining or Geologic Engineering or related discipline.
  • Professional engineer (PE) license.
  • 7 years of related experience.
  • Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
  • Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

  • Create excavation, dewatering, and foundation designs.
  • Engineering designs to meet client project requirements.
  • Review designs for compliance with regulations.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentor junior staff.
  • Collaborate with sales to create proposals and respond to RFPs.
