Job summary

Pennoni is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer with a background in Geotechnical Engineering and Construction Material Testing. The role leads engineering services, supports project execution, mentors junior staff, and grows client relationships.

This position requires an in-person presence at our Newark, DE office, collaborating across Pennoni’s multidisciplinary teams. The ideal candidate is proactive and motivated to grow within a collaborative environment, with responsibilities including

Qualifications

• Licensure: PE or ability to obtain within 6 months of start date.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Technical background in geotechnical topics (foundations, soils, retaining walls, testing).
• Familiarity with IBC and CNJ codes is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical analyses, field investigations, design reviews and reporting.
• Manage Construction Materials Testing and Special Inspections for clients.
• Oversee project execution to ensure quality, schedules, and standards.
• Mentor junior engineers and field staff.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for project delivery.
• Prepare and review proposals and geotechnical reports.
• Support business development by maintaining client relationships.
• Attend jobsite visits and coordinate with contractors and clients.
