Delta Oaks Group in Raleigh, NC seeks a senior geotechnical engineer with 10–15 years of experience to lead investigations, perform analyses, and prepare technical reports with limited supervision.
The role requires PE licensure, knowledge of deep and shallow foundations, and mentorship of junior staff, with responsibilities spanning project management, client interaction, and cross-disciplinary collaboration. The candidate will also engage in business development and field coordination.
Delta Oaks Group is seeking an individual to perform various geotechnical engineering services. These services include but are not limited to various technical evaluations, project management/administrative support services, and client-facing support associated with the practice of geotechnical engineering. This position will require ten (10) to fifteen (15) years of experience within the geotechnical or similar engineering field. Experience with deep and shallow foundations, laboratory soil analyses, and technical reports issuance with limited supervision is required. The individual must be able to independently manage complex investigations, develop geotechnical recommendations, mentor junior staff, and support business development efforts.
Due to the nature and limited timelines of most projects, the selected individual should be willing and capable of exhibiting the work ethic and social ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment where communication with co-workers and strategic partners is paramount.
The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated worker, capable of operating in a team-oriented environment intended to complete projects effectively and efficiently. They should have strong interpersonal skills, as this position requires interacting with fellow co-workers and employees daily. They should be a self-starter, with a focus on company and career advancement though diligent work, technical competence, and client satisfaction. The selected individual should also be willing/capable of growing into an expanded project/senior engineering role as the client base and responsibility of the group expands.

Bachelor of Science in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution; M.S. in Geotechnical Engineering, or related, is a plus.
PE registration is required.
Engineering experience amounting to ten (10) to fifteen (15) years of experience in geotechnical engineering or related engineering areas; more specifically deep and shallow foundations.
Some sitting and standing, with occasional lifting. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
Some travel, less than 20%, will be required as necessary for project meetings, field investigations, etc.
