Job summary

Lombardi Engineering Group is seeking a Project Engineer to lead geotechnical design and delivery on complex infrastructure projects in the United States. This role emphasizes technical excellence, collaboration with clients and teams, and hands-on supervision of investigations.

You will supervise campaigns, interpret tests, prepare technical reports, and provide leadership for multi-disciplinary project teams across large-scale developments. Strong English is essential; Italian is a plus.

Job Description

• Design, plan and supervise geotechnical engineering solutions in soil and rock for complex projects.
• Plan and supervise geotechnical investigation campaigns, interpreting tests, monitoring and technical data for decision-making. Evaluate geotechnical risks and review studies and designs.
• Prepare technical reports, define deliverables and ensure compliance with schedules and quality standards.
• Carry out technical site visits, collaborate with customers, suppliers and internal teams, and propose innovative and efficient solutions for each challenge.
• Organisational and technical leadership, coaching and supervision of project teams in the delivery of special packages for complex projects.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering and specialization in geotechnics.
• Minimum experience of 15 years in geotechnical design, preferably in engineering, consulting, linked to large‑scale projects. Experience in the preparation of technical‑economic proposals. Experience in technical leadership of engineering teams advantageous.
• Solid knowledge in design and geotechnical and structural analysis applied to tunnels, slopes, foundations, containment structures, dams and underground works. Analytical, organized and results‑oriented profile, with good communication skills and ability to manage relationships with customers and suppliers, as well as to work in a team and solve problems.
• Management of technical software such as Rocscience and PLAXIS/FLAC.
• Proficiency in English; knowledge of Italian.
