Base pay range: $95,000.00/yr - $120,000.00/yr

Position Overview

Our Geotechnical Team in Orange County, NY is seeking a full-time Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join us on challenging projects. The position is preferably based in Newburgh, NY, but flexible for remote work within regional offices. This role offers professional growth into leadership within our team, working alongside experienced, licensed professionals.

Essential Functions

1. Perform geotechnical analysis and design calculations, monitor exploration programs, classify soils, and conduct engineering analysis.
2. Assist in preparing proposals and engineering reports.
3. Support project management through all phases, including organization, tracking, deliverables, and client communication.
4. Review work of junior staff and coordinate project tasks.
5. Prepare design calculations, sketches, and technical specifications.
6. Coordinate field work with clients and subcontractors.
7. Provide construction observations, review submittals, RFIs, and perform site visits.
8. Analyze data, samples, and test results from field testing.
9. Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications

1. 5-15 years of relevant geotechnical experience, with a PE license; project management experience preferred.
2. BSc in Civil Engineering or related; MSc preferred.
3. Experience with subsurface exploration, soil classification, testing, foundation design, retaining walls, dams, and report writing.
4. Effective communication skills with stakeholders.
5. Proficiency with AutoCAD 2020+ and MS Office.
6. Ability to complete OSHA 10-hour training.
7. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to sites.

Physical Requirements

Position involves stationary work, handling documents and equipment, occasional site visits, and lifting up to 31 lbs. Visual and focus abilities are required, along with potential substance testing and operation of vehicles and office equipment.
