Job summary

ANS is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer for the New Jersey Office to lead geotechnical design, investigations, and reporting on renewable energy and infrastructure projects.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, oversee field programs, and mentor junior staff while delivering high-quality engineering solutions. Travel and strong communication are essential for client engagement and project success.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering, Geology, or related field.
• Valid US driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Willingness to travel up to one week per month.
• Strong communication and organizational skills with a proactive attitude.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in consulting engineering or related field.
• Experience preparing engineering reports with strong technical writing skills.
• Experience working within and leading team environments.
• Working knowledge of geotechnical principles and engineering design.

Position Overview

Senior Geotechnical Engineer (New Jersey Office). ANS is an emerging civil engineering firm focusing on renewable energy and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare engineering reports and technical analyses, including foundation design and support of excavation systems.
• Conduct geotechnical field investigations, construction observation, and engineering evaluation.
• Interface directly with coworkers, clients, and stakeholders to communicate findings and recommendations.
• Participate in career growth opportunities, elective continuing education, community and professional societies.

Required Qualifications (MUST-HAVE)

• BS in Civil Engineering, Geology, or related field.
• Valid US driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Flexibility to travel up to one week at a time, at least once per month.
• Strong communication and organizational skills with a proactive attitude.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in consulting engineering or related field.
• Experience preparing engineering reports with strong technical writing skills.
• Experience working within and leading team environments.
• Working knowledge of geotechnical principles and engineering design.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Have)

• Technical licensure track (EIT, GIT, PE, PG, PMP, or similar).
• Experience planning, implementing, overseeing, and managing subsurface investigation programs.
• Prior experience with geotechnical investigations, soil borings, rock coring, and material testing.
• Experience with design of foundations, support of excavation systems, and preparing reports.
• Prior experience with geotechnical software (gINT, GeoStudio, LPILE, ALLPILE, DeepEx, etc.).
• Familiarity with renewable energy sector.

Compensation

$120,000 - $140,000 per year.
