Job summary

The University of Alabama in Huntsville's Earth System Science Center seeks a Computer Scientist to support IMPACT's geospatial data science initiatives. The role focuses on advancing data science capabilities for NASA Earth science data management, access, and dissemination, within ODSI and LAS.

You will work with a large team, including external collaborators, to push forward data-driven methods in LLMs, computer vision, and multimodal systems, and you will present research findings.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in CS/Applied Math/Physics or related field is required; exceptions may apply.
• Minimum of 5.5 years of full-time verifiable work experience.
• Experience programming in Python.

Responsibilities

• Leverage NASA data sets and large-scale computing to advance ML/LLMs, CNNs, and multimodal systems.
• Collaborate with a large team, including external collaborators.
• Present research findings.
