Job summary

Verrus is seeking a Senior Geologist to lead brownfield exploration and target generation across a portfolio of gold assets. You will integrate diverse datasets, develop 3D geological models, and provide technical guidance to junior staff across multiple sites.

The position is based at our Denver headquarters with ~25% travel to operating and exploration assets in the Americas, supporting site and resource geology teams and collaborating with senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience in litho-structural mapping and brownfield targets.
• Experience in brownfield exploration and target generation, precious metals preferred.
• Experience in orogenic, epithermal and/or Carlin gold systems.
• Strong GIS capability; ArcGIS Pro advantageous.
• Proficiency with Leapfrog Geo or similar 3D modelling software.
• Strong interpretation and targeting skills; ability to present to stakeholders.
• Collaborative approach with commitment to HSEC standards.
• Willingness to travel ~25% across North and South America.

Responsibilities

• Generate and evaluate brownfield targets across mine, near-mine and regional environments.
• Integrate geological, geochemical, geophysical and drilling data to form hypotheses.
• Develop interpretations and 3D geological models.
• Lead litho-structural mapping and field investigations.
• Support and oversee drill programs.
• Review targets and present recommendations to senior stakeholders.
• Maintain and improve geological datasets and GIS platforms.
• Apply new exploration techniques and datasets to improve targeting.
• Collaborate with site geology, resource geology, mine geology and technical services teams.
• Mentor junior geologists and technicians.

Senior Geologist | Brownfields Exploration | Gold

I’m working with an established international gold producer with multiple producing operations across North and South America, alongside a strong pipeline of development and exploration assets.

They’re looking to appoint a Senior Geologist to join their Resource Development team and play a key role in identifying and advancing brownfield exploration opportunities across the portfolio.

The role is based at the company's Denver headquarters, with approximately 25% travel to operating and exploration assets.

This is a technically focused position with exposure to a broad range of exploration and resource development activities, including:

• Generating and evaluating brownfield targets across mine, near-mine and regional environments
• Integrating geological, geochemical, geophysical and drilling datasets to develop exploration hypotheses
• Developing and refining geological interpretations and 3D models
• Leading litho-structural mapping and field investigations
• Supporting and providing technical oversight of drill programs
• Reviewing and prioritising exploration targets and presenting recommendations to senior stakeholders
• Maintaining and improving geological datasets and GIS platforms across the portfolio
• Applying new exploration techniques, technologies and datasets to improve targeting
• Working closely with site geology, resource geology, mine geology and technical services teams
• Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior geologists and technicians

What they’re looking for:

• Strong experience in litho-structural mapping
• Experience in brownfield exploration and target generation, ideally within precious metals environments
• Experience working in orogenic, epithermal and/or Carlin gold systems
• Strong GIS capability, with ArcGIS Pro experience an advantage
• Proficiency with Leapfrog Geo or equivalent 3D modelling software
• Strong geological interpretation and exploration targeting capabilityExcellent communication skills and the ability to present technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• A collaborative approach and strong commitment to HSEC standards
• Willingness to travel approximately 25% across the company's operating and exploration assets throughout North and South America
