Job summary

STL Digital is seeking a Senior GCP Data Engineer / Java Developer to design and operate cloud data pipelines on Google Cloud Platform using Apache Beam and Dataflow. The role emphasizes scalability, security, and reliability as you work with Bigtable and Spanner, while ensuring smooth incident handling and client onboarding.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of hands-on software development experience using Java and the Spring Framework.
• 3+ years of experience designing and operating cloud data pipelines on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Experience building streaming and batch transformation pipelines with Apache Beam and GCP Dataflow.
• Hands-on experience with NoSQL (Bigtable) and relational/distributed databases (Spanner).
• Understanding of cloud security mechanisms including envelope encryption, key management, and OAuth 2.0 token handling.
• Operations mindset with incident handling, client onboarding, and platform patching.

• GCP & Pipeline Expertise: Proven track record building streaming and batch

transformation pipelines with Apache Beam and GCP Dataflow.

• Database Experience: Hands-on experience working with NoSQL (Bigtable) and

relational/distributed database technologies (Spanner).

• Security & Auth: Demonstrated understanding of cloud security mechanisms, including

envelope encryption, key management, and OAuth 2.0 token handling.

• Operations Mindset: Comfortable balancing feature delivery with operational support

(incident handling, client onboarding, and platform patching).
