Job summary

Fanatics TCG, a Seattle-based trading card game studio, seeks a Senior Game Designer to shape major systems and releases. You will own design frameworks, mentor peers, and stay deeply hands-on to ensure long‑term health of the game.

You will collaborate with product, creative, development, and playtesting teams to balance, iterate, and ship high‑quality experiences for fans globally, onsite in Seattle five days a week.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional game design experience, with trading card games or similar systems-driven titles.
• Experience owning complex game systems from design to production.
• Strong documentation and design-process skills.
• Excellent cross-disciplinary communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead set-level and mechanic design for major releases.
• Own design systems, rules, formats, and features from concept to implementation.
• Establish design frameworks and workflows for consistent decisions across releases.
• Review work, mentor designers, while staying deeply involved in hands-on design.
• Collaborate with product, creative, development, and playtesting teams to resolve tradeoffs.
• Identify systemic risks and balance issues; drive solutions informed by testing.
